A heart for song, an ear for music, and a knack for languages, Mila's talent has truly been her ticket to ride. A native of the Philippines, Mila began her singing career while a teenager. She performed in five-star hotels in Manila, Baguio and Bacolod City. Soon, her talent took her to Vietnam to entertain U.S. Military troops, followed by tours in Japan and Guam.
In Japan for five years, Mila headlined a Las Vegas-style revue booked in numerous prestigious hotels. Quickly becoming fluent in Japanese, she won the hearts of audiences throughout the land.
Now she performs in English, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese as well as her native Tagalog and other Filipino languages. Her repertoire is just as varied, ranging from salsa and samba to pop, rock, jazz, and Broadway tunes. Mila now lives in Hawaiiand you can be sure she's adding Polynesian culture to her eclectic assortment of entertainment styles.
Her first CD, Te Quiero (Ooh . . . Baby, Baby), reveals her musical range. The title song, a Linda Ronstadt favorite, was translated into Spanish by her friend, singer/songwriter/producer Alfonso Velazquez. Heavily influenced by Latin music, Historia de un Amor and El Reloj are among the Latin numbers on this recording. Other selections include the romantic ballad, Do You Still Need Me, a country ballad, To Have You Back Again, and a return to the 70's disco sound If I Can't Have You.
Enjoy a musical journey with Mila and let you soul soar!
